The Porsche 918 Spyder - One Of The Most Expensive Cars:
Average Price in 2012: $845,000 USDThe 918 Spyder is a 2-seater sports car designed by Michael Mauer. The car features a 3.4L V8 engine
generating 500 hp which is sourced from the engine used in the RS Spyder Le Mans concept car. The main
engine is helped by other three electric motors producing an additional 218 hp. The transmission is a seven-
speed gearbox to an RWD traction system.
Two electric motors power the front wheels while the third electric motor is coupled to the transmission and
generates additional power to the rear wheels. This enables the 918 Spyder to obtain a 0–100 km/h time in
about 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h.
The chassis is a carbon-fibre-reinforced, and magnesium and aluminium are used which resulted in the 918
Spyder's weight down to 1,49 tons.
