Average Price in 2012: $190,000 USDThe Audi R8 is a mid-engine, two-seater high-performance sports car, which is fitted with the Quattro full-time
AWD traction system. It was presented by the Audi AG German car company in 2006.
The car has a unique style, designed, and produced by Audi AG's high-performance cars division, Quattro
GmbH, and is inspired by the Lamborghini Gallardo body structure.
Launched in May 2010, the R8 GT is the fastest Audi car to date. The weight has been lowered by 100 kg
from the previous model. The power of the V10 FSI engine has been boosted to 560 PS. Thanks to these
enhancements the new R8 GT can reach a top speed of 199 mph, and can run from 0-60 mph in just 3.6
seconds.
The R8 model will be succeeded by the all-new model planned to be released in 2014. It is rumoured that
the Audi's new 4.0L V8 twin-turbocharged engine will be fitted on the car. This engine is planned to be reworked
as a detuned version of the 2012 Audi S8 engine, actually of 518 hp.
